A native of Arizona, Joe came to Utah to study Visual Arts and Graphic Design at the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. During college, he pursued jobs in the graphic design field, which led him to working for several small printing and prepress companies in downtown Salt Lake City. He was later hired by Joel Carson with Prudential Utah Real Estate, a relatively new brokerage in the Utah market, and worked there for several years in the marketing department before becoming the marketing director for Lance May & Associates, the #1 New Construction Realtor along the Wasatch Front. After working with Lance May, Joe was hired back as the Marketing Director for Prudential Utah Real Estate, where he managed the marketing and advertising for the company and over 500 agents and multiple developments along the Wasatch Front. The company grew to more than 750 full-time Realtors in 16 office locations across Utah. Prudential Utah Real Estate became Utah's number one real estate company in total volume topping $3.2 billion in sales serving all Northern Utah markets.
In 2010, Joe accepted a position as the Marketing Director for Summit Sotheby’s International Realty, with responsibility over Park City, Salt Lake City and the St. George markets. Summit Sotheby’s International Realty was organized in 2008 and became the exclusive Sotheby’s International Realty company for the state of Utah. In its first year, Summit Sotheby’s International Realty produced $135 million in sales volume. In 2017, the company produced over $1.8 billion in annual sales volume. In the role of marketing director, Joe was responsible for the company’s strategic marketing efforts and the delivery of marketing materials, tools and resources for 175+ sales associates in 12+ offices throughout the state. He was responsible for all company marketing, advertising, public relations, company/agent newsletter communication and company intranet. He led the redesign of the Summit Sotheby's International Realty website, summitsothebysrealty.com, with the goal of redefining how consumers search for real estate. The website now serves as an integrated marketing solution for the company and provides a consistent, high-quality experience for consumers, allowing them to search for a home in a variety of ways, including by lifestyle. Joe also spearheaded the creation of the Summit Sotheby’s International Realty video channel, agent intranet/portal, Rezora email marketing integration, and "Smart" Real Estate Market Video Reports. He has also acted as the publisher/art director of the Collections Magazine, a luxury lifestyle and real estate magazine published twice a year by Summit Sotheby’s International Realty with over 100,000 copies per issue.
